We split Info Express into two companies

Info Express was really two companies from the start. Joyce,  Salley, and I wrote and produced books for several publishers, and Scott and I worked at producing and marketing the real time data display system.

Unfortunately Scott and Salley didn’t get along from the start…and both of them ended up being pretty unhappy. We discussed a variety of ways to smooth things over, but that just didn’t seem possible. So we decided to split the company. The only real question was which company I would go with. Eventually I decided that Joyce and Salley needed me more than
Scott did, and I could always lend him a hand when he needed it.

Scott kept the Info Express name and we named out new company Online Press.  We also kept the phone number and the office building we were renting. Scott moved to an office and warehouse at 12506 130th Lane NE, Kirkland, WA.

I hung out with Scott a lot, and helped out as he needed it. His dad, who was pretty high up at Boeing, and a good manager, also lent a hand,  Scott fairly quickly hired an office manager and a couple employees and within a year was on solid ground.
