History with SES

When I bought, in March, the spares and pinger for MG3, it was agreed with Scott Johnson, that I could repay in a few months, when he contacted me for money a few months later, I payed him the total amount, with in a couple of weeks.

The deal I have with SES is to rent my R2Sonics for 12 months, starting in April, at 15 days a month. Mid October Scott called me to say that the R2Sonic was off-hire from September, only after 5 months, much shorter then the 12 months agreed. He did not contact me right away on this issue. The excuse for the off hire was that the R2sonic could not be used deeper then 100 meters of depth. Of which I don’t know if this is real or not.

Also, two weeks into April, his client lost the new R2sonics (which was brand new), of which he first said just fell off at sea. And was claiming manufactures defect. This dispute went on for a week, when I decided to drive up and see for myself. When I inspected the remainder of the mount, it still had some mud on it. If it has mud on it, it must of hit the bottom. When I asked the engineer in the shop what it looked like when it came in, he and Les Ford said it was full of mud and very messed up, and he was told to wash it up. It was good that it was not cleaned very well, as I found some mud left in the welds and seams. Only after that, did the story changed to, it was lost in or near the harbour, as the vessel was moved on the lowest tide of the year, very sill to do it then.

I do not know if SES replaced my system with a lesser system or this is a restriction (100 meter depth) for all system.

I have only recieved £6000 for the R2sonic sense the start in April. When I asked last week for the system to be sent to GEMS, he then said it was out on hire, I was not told prior that the system had moved or anything. I asked when the hire started, but got no response. After asking again he said, he was waiting for the client to send in usage figures at the end of the month. I only agreed to the 12 month 15 day plan. Not a use system as-and-when needed. What ever deal he makes with his clients is up to him.

I also think he has rented out the USBL sense it was sent from GEMS in May. I have only asked SES to check out the system on return from GEMS, I have asked many many times for a report and have only got excuses. As I have not even negoseated a rental price or policy. So if any of the beacons are missing, I know that they would of been lost or damaged from being used by his clients.

All I want is the moneys owed me and my equipment back in good condidtion. GEMS needs the R2sonic right-away.

Best Regards,
Scott
